The Story of Travellers Rest
Family run business & values
My wife & I (Natalie & Martin Watts) took over the Travellers Rest in 2016, moving from Edinburgh with our two young children. Having previously run 4 & 5 star hotels we were excited to be starting our own business and a new way of life.
Our goal has and always will be to focus our business around people. Creating memorable experiences with a warm and friendly environment for our guests and team members alike. Walking into the Travellers should feel like a visit to your Grans... A warm and genuine welcome on arrival, surrounded by great conversation, laughter and storytelling, all topped off with sumptuous homemade traditional food and your favourite tipple.
We are blessed to live where we do in such a rich and nourishing landscape, supported by our amazing team and community around us.
We hope that our passion for genuine hospitality and traditional values shines through in everything we do, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Travellers Rest.
The Travellers Rest is a beautiful Cornish village pub with luxury glamping pods, nestled between Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay beaches, just a mile from Newquay Airport. The pub is ideally located to relax and unwind as you take in the sights of the North Cornwall coast.
Dating back to the 17th Century the "Travs" as it is affectionately known locally, has a cosy, warm and friendly atmosphere with a fantastic range of some of the finest Cornish food and drinks available.
Our menu changes with the seasons, as our chefs design them around the fabulous produce we have available on our doorstep.
We are hugely passionate about great quality, home cooked, locally sourced and seasonal fresh food. You can expect to find the pub classics, as well as some of our own twists on contempory and international inspirations.
At the heart of our pub you'll find our team "#Travstribe" offering each and every guest their award winning service.
